Exercise Prescription

Home exercises are prescribed in your first visit with Rob and re-evaluated and progressed during your course of care. Whether your injury is acute or chronic, prescribed exercises are arguably the most important component of your rehabilitation. Exercises are integrated into your treatment plan to improve endurance, flexibility, strength and balance and to correct dysfunctional movement patterns that stand in the way of full recovery.

Needling & Acupuncture

Rob has tremendous experience with needling and acupuncture. IMS (intramuscular stimulation) is one of Rob’s most effective treatment modalities in his toolbox of skills and certifications. Rob is certified in GunnIMS (2009) - the Gunn certification is the most comprehensive and respected IMS or dry-needling certification.

Pain Intervention Triage

If you require a referral to see a specialist or for an intervention such as a cortisone injection, prolotherapy or PRP, Rob has the experience and the network to facilitate that process. He has completed his Advance Practice Certification and is a respected member in the muskuloskeletal field. Rob has developed a comprehensive network of physicians, sport-medicine physicians, physiatrists, and orthopaedic surgeons throughout his career. He spent ten formative years at the University of Calgary Sport Medicine Centre and worked at the Clinical Assessment Unit at the EFW Radiology Advanced Spinal Care Centre from 2014 to 2017.

Manual Therapy

Manual therapy is a hands-on form of physiotherapy that includes skilled mobilization or manipulation of the joints and soft-tissue release techniques. Rob completed his FCAMPT certification in 2011.
